|Resize Desktop Windows
If you are
installing Pearl OS v 2.5 on a small
laptop or netbook you most likely will run
into an issue where you cannot resize your
active window small enough to reach your
window form fields at the bottom of the
window. This is easily solved by your
super (windows) key on your keyboard.
Below see the super key is marked with a
star. To move windows either above and
beyond the top panel and the bottom dock
while holding the super key hold down left
click on your mouse while dragging the
window where you want.
|Pearl Tweak Tool currently is simply just the Gnome Tweak Tool renamed for use in the Gnome Control Center ( System Settings). You may access this app from system settings the “Slingscold Search App” menu by left clicking on the bottom dock Pearl Logo or the top panel menu.|
|This tool is used
to customize most of your desktop preferences. You can,
change background wallpapers, change themes, fonts,
startup prefs, etc. etc. You may also change wallpapers
inside the system settings control panel by clicking on
wallpapers. Also note Nautilus, the file manager, can
also be used to change wallpapers as well by right
clicking on a graphic image.
by default does not autoload on startup. To
activate the conky settings like our screenshot setup
enable our default setting which includes time, date, HD
stats, CPU stats, RAM stats, and IP address. See sample
|Open the Conky Manager inside the System Settings Control Center. Check and highlight the widget as shown below from the initial screen that loads with this manager. Feel free to experiment around with this manager and make your own widget or theme easily. The Conky Manager comes with a few samples you may prefer over our default.|

(You must be within the thunar file manager to use custom commands.)
(for instance if you were to right click on desktop nautilus handles changing wallpaper)
Simply highlight file then right click send to printer
example above the file good2.jpg will send to default printer
To have computer read (speak to) you a file again, within Thunar, highlight file
then right click "Read Me This File"
BTW ---> lol I highlightighted a wrong file one time told it to Read it and
lol... man it wouldn't shut the ... up... I made a shortcut to kill all e-speak
if you want the dude to stop talking just right click "Stop E Speak"
Also, we only installed the default e-speak voice. There are many more available.
|OPEN Thunar as ROOT
You can easily tell when working in the root file manager
mode ... gold warning bar seems to do the trick.
